Nineteen Group, the fastest growing UK exhibitions and media business, backed by Phoenix Equity Partners, announced today that Mary Larkin will join the group to lead the next phase of growth into the Americas.

Phoenix Equity Partners recently announced the successful raising of a £200 million continuation fund to extend its partnership with Nineteen Group after it significantly over performed their original plans, allowing Nineteen Group to continue their rapid growth internationally.

Peter Jones, CEO of Nineteen Group said; “We are delighted to welcome Mary to Nineteen Group. Alison, Jon, and I could not think of a better person to lead the charge for us in the Americas. She has a strong record and is universally well respected for her ability to run large portfolios of events as well as launch and acquire events in various sectors and geographies. As important as her significant record is her clear fit with our cultural values. From the minute we met her, we knew she was the person we wanted for this role!”

Mary said, “I have admired the progress of Nineteen Group over recent years. I am so excited to join the group at this stage in its development to launch an Americas division. Their focus on resilient B2B markets, agility, and passion for the markets they serve has caught my attention. Furthermore, their rigorous daily focus on creating a culture first organisation is appealing and impressive. There is so much potential to launch and acquire in The Americas with this approach.”

Mary has been in the event and media business for over 25 years. She started her career in Montgomery Exhibitions and was US lead for Diversified Exhibitions for many years and worked across various sectors and geographies. She is also an active member of the events community having been the chair of industry associations such as UFI and SISO.
